Future Economy Conference and Exhibition
Future Economy Conference and Exhibition 2018
About FECE 2018
In line with the strategies and recommendations made by the Committee on the Future Economy, Singapore’s focus for the future economy has been to ensure that our people have deep skills and are inspired to learn throughout their lives, our businesses are innovative and nimble, our city is vibrant, connected to the world and continually renewing itself, and our Government is coordinated, inclusive and responsive.
Technological change will continue to transform the way that we work and do business. Adapting to the accelerated pace of change in our economy will be complex and challenging. Therefore, it is important that business leaders understand the implications of the changes taking place, and the steps they need to take in order to harness the opportunities that come with change. Likewise, there are opportunities for workers to take on exciting new jobs or redesigned jobs, as long as we embrace lifelong learning, and remain willing to re-skill and up-skill.
To capitalise on the opportunities that are available, transforming now is key. This year’s Future Economy Conference and Exhibition 2018 will bring together thought leaders from businesses, government, trade associations and chambers and the labour movement to learn more about how businesses, workers and all sectors of society can take advantage of the Industry Transformation Maps (ITMs). Through the sharing of best practices and practical steps towards transformation, businesses will be able to tap on the positive growth momentum that we are seeing in the region and globally. Workers will be better prepared for the jobs of tomorrow. Everyone can play a part today for us to achieve future growth together.
About Singapore Business Federation
The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is the apex business chamber championing the interests of the Singapore business community in the areas of trade, investment and industrial relations. It represents 25,800 companies, as well as key local and foreign business chambers. In July 2001, the Minister for Trade and Industry introduced a Bill in Parliament to establish the SBF Act, which was passed by Parliament and became law on 5 Oct 2001. The Federation was then established on 1 April 2002, with the aim of representing the business community’s interests both locally and overseas. Under the SBF Act, all Singapore-registered companies with share capital of S$0.5 million and above are members of SBF.
