SGTech and WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center Partnership
SGTech (formerly SiTF) has established a relationship with the World Intellectual Property Organization Arbitration and Mediation Center (WIPO Center). This relationship will help raise awareness of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) options to court litigation available to technology vendors, their partners and customers. As a SGTech member, you can now enjoy special rates for using the WIPO Center dispute resolution services.
About WIPO
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It is dedicated to developing a balanced and accessible international intellectual property (IP) system, which rewards creativity, stimulates innovation and contributes to economic development while safeguarding the public interest.
WIPO was established by the WIPO Convention in 1967 with a mandate from its Member States to promote the protection of IP throughout the world through cooperation among states and in collaboration with other international organizations. Its headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland. The Director General is Francis Gurry.
Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the WIPO Center was established in 1994 to offer ADR options for the resolution of international commercial disputes between private parties. Developed by leading experts in cross-border dispute settlement, the arbitration, mediation and expert determination procedures offered by the WIPO Center are widely recognized as particularly appropriate for technology, entertainment and other disputes involving intellectual property. Since 2010 the WIPO Center has an office at Maxwell Chambers in Singapore.
