SGTech and its member companies explore business opportunities in China-Singapore Connectivity Initiatives 

SINGAPORE/CHONGQING – SGTech and 14 of its member-companies joined the IMDA-led trade mission to Chongqing from 22 to 26 August 2018.
The mission was a follow-up from the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity under the ICT Pillar to offer Singapore tech companies the opportunities to network with and partner Chinese companies to develop ICT innovations, form cross-industry ecosystems, and build their businesses in both countries as well as globally.

Smart China Expo
Singapore was one of the two countries-of-honour at the inaugural Smart China Expo (24 – 26 Aug). The Singapore pavilion was set up to demonstrate the result of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity under the ICT Pillar. Under SGTech’s exhibition cluster includes companies such as aZaas, DataStreamX, GDS Global, GeTS Asia, InspireTech, Overdrive, ST Telemedia Global Data Centre, Surbana Technologies, vCargo and Zomworks.

Singapore-Chongqing Digital Economy High-Level Seminar
Jointly held by IMDA and the Chongqing Municipality Government. The seminar was a platform for both cities to share ideas and experiences in their Digital Economy journeys. Discussion topics included smart city, tourism, fintech, and trade and logistics.

CONNECTING INTO CHONGQING ECOSYSTEMS


China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration initiative on Strategic Connectivity Administration Bureau (CCIB)
During this mission, the delegates also met up with CCIB to understand the business environment and what incentives were available to business wanting to land in Chongqing.

CCIB and SGTech also conducted a close door exchange on possible collaboration to invite Singapore tech companies to help transform/digitalise the traditional CQ industrial sector. 

Delegates also visited Chinese companies such as Tencent WeStart and Zhubaji to understand how they can benefit from tapping onto the ecosystem of these companies and platforms:

An established start-up ecosystem in China western region (30+ nodes across China). Offers companies with access to a ready data platform which include both data and tools to get on with the analytics/AI, exposure to the Tencent ecosystem, access to Tencent consumers and Tencent funding.

Zhubajie (ZBJ)
 
 

Zhubajie (ZBJ) – China’s largest platform for services
, and one of China’s largest crowdsourcing platforms.  ZBJ’s platform offers SG companies access to providers for professional design services that you can tap on when landing in China
