Igniting Young Sparks in Tech: SGTech hosted 22 students from Jurong West Secondary School
SGTech hosted 22 Secondary 2 and 3 students from Jurong West Secondary School on 19th June 2018. The students were given an introduction to SGTech as well as the latest technology deployed in the industry. They were encouraged to consider a career in the tech sector and use TalentGuru to explore various career pathways. Several were keen on a cyber security or game designing career. Following the presentation, the students were given a tour of SGTech's co-working space and Timbre+. They learnt about the RFID (radio frequency identification) tray-return system and the benefits of this technology.
These learning tours allow SGTech to build the talent pipeline by grooming young talents for the future. This is part of SGTech's long-term manpower strategy to prepare the next generation with future-ready skills and mindset.
Increasingly, schools are keen to have students shadow and learn from industry professionals for a week or more. If your organisation is passionate about building the talent pipeline, get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org
