SGTech Learning Journey Series: The Next Generation of Communication Technology
On 29 October 2020, SGTech hosted our first ever Learning Journey online which engaged 50 participants who are Singapore Digital (SG:D) scholars and alumni, Industry Preparation for Pre-graduate (iPREP) students and Temasek Polytechnic Business students. This event was made possible with the support of IMDA and SGInnovate and a total of 4 companies were invited to share about “The Next Generation of Communication Technology” with the participants.
Sebastian, Head of 5G Business Unit at Starhub, shared about Singapore's vision and strategic focus areas for 5G and also one of Starhub's showcases - Cellular-On-Wheels.
Huawei launched its AI Innovation Lab in Singapore last year but due to the COVID situation, the gallery is now accessible online! Paul, Senior Business Consultant of the Carrier Network Department, gave the participants a sneak peek of the various AI solutions and 5G applications that Huawei is developing.
Dr Rob, the CTO and co-founder of SpeQtral, gave a broad overview of Quantum Computing and explained how the company is developing a satellite-based Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system for secure communication and cybersecurity.
Sahil, CEO & co-founder of Atomionics, shared that his company is building quantum sensors which can map the entire underground!
Once again, SGTech thanks our members - Starhub and Huawei for stepping forward to share more about the 5G industry and Atomionics and SpeQtral for sharing more about the Quantum Computing space.
