Future Hybrid of the New Dynamic Workplace

How are organisations transforming to ensure employees perform productively and effectively while working remotely and at the office? What can organisations do to distribute the workforce properly? More than 40 attendees tuned in to the webinar held on 8 Dec 2020 to seek those answers to the future of work, and how a fully digital workplace can benefit an organisation. 

Mr Lau Shih Hor, SGTech’s Smart Nation Chapter Chairman, welcomed all and introduced SGTech and the Smart Nation Chapter. 

Mr Dinesh Malkani, Founder & CEO of Smarten Spaces, shared on the key learnings and best practices for businesses in the new hybrid workplace.

Providing information gathered from deploying solutions in over 50 cities across 16 countries, the five key learnings were:

Mr Pranay Anand, Senior Director, Intelligent Workplace, NTT Ltd., presented on how shaping an employee’s experience is essential for a transformed world. The top 5 actions for workplace modernisation are:

  • Workplace wellness
  • Home-office workplace support
He explained that organisations that set the foundation for employee’s well-being are in a stronger position to re-architect their businesses to be more agile, responsive, and ultimately, more successful over the longer term.  


On the topic of leveraging IoT for workplace space management, sustainability & employee productivity, Mr Kenneth Lee, Founder & CEO of Green Koncepts Pte Ltd, shared on the following trends and challenges in managing real estate during the pandemic:

He spoke about the various methods in creating and managing intelligent workspaces, such as using advance analytics to gain strategic insights to drive capacity planning and crowd management. IoT sensors are deployed to gather data needed for analytics, such as using self-powered desk sensors that can detect workspace occupancy; and physical distancing sensors which detect proper safe distancing.  

In the panel discussion and Q&A segment moderated by Ms Nadhirah Jamil, Regional Marketing Manager of Smarten Spaces, webinar participants posed questions such as “how would the landscape of workplaces evolve in future with technology” and “how can businesses further leverage on technology”.
