SGTech Builds Closer Ties to Korea with National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) MOU

Singapore, 26 July 2018 – SGTech has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), Republic of Korea, to foster closer collaboration and promote technology partnerships between Singapore and Republic of Korea companies.
With this collaboration, both SGTech and NIPA can leverage on each other’s networks of partners and contacts. Several initiatives will also be developed such as joint cross-border business activities, co-hosting events, co-operation on bilateral talent exchanges, capability transfer and development programs which can raise the competitiveness of the ICT sector in both countries.
“The Republic of Korea today has one of the most innovative economies in the world, spearheaded by smart technologies and a strong focus on research and development. This MOU will enable our member companies – start-ups, SMEs or established companies – the opportunity to learn and benefit by working or partnering with their counterparts in Republic of Korea, and for companies in Republic of Korea’s ICT industry to bring their innovation to a wider region,” said Mr Wong Wai Meng, First Vice-Chairman, SGTech.

This MOU offers a win-win for both by deepening the collaboration between Singapore and Republic of Korea and bringing together both our countries’ strengths in market knowledge, technology and reach,” said Yeo See Kiat, Executive Director, SGTech.

NIPA is a government agency that promotes and develops the ICT industry in the Republic of Korea. Since its establishment in 1998, NIPA aims to promote businesses related to the convergence and utilisation of ICT technology, as well as support international exchanges, foster co-operation and to expand the Republic of Korea’s ICT industry overseas with Korea IT Cooperation Center Singapore, which is an overseas branch of NIPA.
